The sales of Great Wall Motors' different categories of passenger car, SUV, pickup kept pace with each other and accumulatively achieved up to 225,000 units totally in 2009, which increased by 77% compared with last year, and of which domestic sales increased by 174%. Despite the overseas markets’ sales has declined dramatically because of the financial crisis, sales declined, but Great Wall Motors’ export value and export volume in 2009 remains a leading position among China-made cars, SUV and pickup categories still remain the first in the domestic export.
In 2009, Great Wall Motors opened up its new growth point with passenger cars, which has realized an annual sale of 82,000 units, especially the hatchback model priced at 50,000-80,000 RMB has become the best-selling brand. Great Wall Motors’ "leading products" - Hover series, keeps the largest-selling national brand with sales volume of 72,000 units. Benefited by government’s stimulative policy to promote cars to the countryside for mass people’s interests, the sales of Great Wall Motors’ pickups, has achieved a sharp increase to 71,000 units. Its leading status in the field is once again proved cannot be shaken with the fact that Great Wall Motor’s pickup has maintained the first in market share and sales in China for consecutive 12 years since 98 years.
Great Wall Motors contrives for greater development with sales of 400,000 units in 2010. According to this plan, a more than 70% year growth will be realized. To achieve this goal, the company has re-integrated its three major series of products with SUV category as the main product named of Hover series, which are divided into medium-sized SUV, mini-SUV, home-use SUV, intermediate SUV, totally four major categories.
Concerning the passenger car category, Great Wall Motors will still focus intensively on A-level car market in 2010, and vigorously promote its four models of GWPERI, FLORID, COOLBEAR and CH031. In MPV field, the main product is COWRY, graded into 3 levels of high, middle and low grades. Wingle as the main product of the pickup category, will integrate the existing varieties and form high, middle and low-class three grades, and strive to maintain the sales champion in the country for 13 consecutive years in 2010.
Moreover, in 2010, Great Wall Motors will launch another 5 new models into market: home-use SUV—Haval M2, A class compact sedan (unnamed yet), medium-sized SUV—Haval H3 diesel, Haval H5, high-class Wingle 5 pickup, etc.
